Summer Worship Hours

10:00 AM  From June 21, 2009 through September 6, 2009, worship will be held one hour earlier than during the regular program year. Regular 11:00 worship will resume on Sunday, September 13, with Communion.

Sunday worship is held in our stunner of a sanctuary. Worship at Glading is centered on God’s Word as it is read, preached, prayed, enacted, and sung.

Worship at Glading is a time where people pray with devotion and optimism, listen with conviction and curiosity, and laugh with the joy of God’s children. Hymns are joyful things at Glading, and are a mix of both the traditional and the new.

The sacraments of Baptism and Communion (The Lord’s Supper) are offered to all who seek our common Lord, Jesus Christ. Baptism of both adults and children are a part of our life; one needs only speak to the pastor to receive Baptism.

Communion is offered on the first Sunday of every month from September through June. The Lord’s Table at Glading is open to any baptized Christian, regardless of from what denomination the individual’s baptism was received. Communion is also offered on Maundy Thursday evening during Holy Week.

Special seasonal services are an important part of our worship life

During Advent:

“The Service of the Longest Night”. This service is an evening service held close to the Winter Solstice. It is for those for whom the Advent season might contain loss, or grief, or some other circumstance which has denied them the full joy of the Christmas season.

“Candles and Carols”. Held early evening on Christmas Eve, this is a familiar, quiet, and lovely service bathed richly in the soft glow of candles, the beauty of the old, old story of Jesus’ birth, and the lovely lyrics of timeless Christmas carols.

During Lent:

Ash Wednesday. Dr. Mann leads an informal service held at 10:00 AM in our fellowship hall; a light breakfast is held.

Maundy Thursday. At 7:00 PM in the sanctuary on the night Jesus was betrayed, this is a Tennebrae service (candlelight) with the sacrament of Holy Communion.

Good Friday. From Noon until 1:00 PM we observe the Crucifixion of our Lord. The service is a powerful reflection of the terrible story of Calvary, yet the service serves as a reminder that Easter Sunday has the last Word in all things.
