The Rev. Andrew H. Mann, Jr., D.Min. (Drew)

Drew MannDrew has been pastor of the Glading Memorial Presbyterian Church since May 1, 2003. Previously, he was the pastor of the Little Falls Presbyterian Church in Arlington, Virginia from 1991 to 2003 and of the First Presbyterian Church in Springfield Township (Flourtown) from 1981 to 1991. He started his pastoral ministry as the associate pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Endicott, NY, from 1972 to 1981.

Drew was ordained to the ministry in June of 1972 at his home church, First Presbyterian Church of Levittown, PA. His undergraduate work was in English Literature, graduating with a BA from Bucknell University in 1969. He received his seminary training and Masters of Divinity degree at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, graduating in 1972. His Doctor of Ministry degree was conferred by McCormick Theological Seminary in 1981; his thesis was written after advanced studies focused in family violence and sexual abuse.  He was the founding President of the S.O.S. Shelter, Inc., the first DSC certified shelter for women and their children in Upstate New York.

In 2001, Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. named him a “Distinguished Professor of Theology in the Practice of Ministry”. While there, Drew taught a course in staff ministry at Wesley and participated in seminar work for second and third year students in Wesley’s PM&M program.

In the fall of 2007, Drew was an adjunct professor at Lutheran Theological Seminary teaching the course in Presbyterian Polity.

Drew was born in Philadelphia in 1947. He was married in 1970 to his wife, Meg, who is herself an ordained Presbyterian pastor. Meg is currently the pastor of the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Fox Chase.

Drew has one child, a daughter, Ryan, who finished her college studies in Social Work at Roanoke College in Salem, VA. Ryan is now working as a full time counselor for abused youth at the Presbyterian Children’s Village in the Philadelphia area.

Drew has varied interests which include cooking, the Phillies ( a fan since 1956, he is and has been a season ticket holder), reading, and driving his favorite toy, a 1996 red Mazda Miata.
